Chariot

Red Bull Chariot

A process of material discovery. Working with an extremely limited budget and finding whatever did the job to ensure passenger safety. The one missing ingredient… speed. It was the very first in the race to lose.

Dreaming of the chariot was easy. Designing it was simple. Rendering it in the computer was a piece of cake. But then there was the cold hard truth of making the dream come true. Assembling the parts was difficult since the available pieces were too difficult to fabricate or acquire. Along the way, rummaging through junk lots, and spare part depots, the design evolved into something that resembled the original intention.

In the end, the project came through a success. The person inside the chariot was safe, which was what mattered most. Ultimately the chariot lost the race and was awarded last place. But many lessons were learned along the way, which is just as rewarding as first place.
